Agios Georgios South Corfu is a beautiful and quiet resort that is popular with both Corfiotes and tourists. Sun, sea and an abundance of hot golden sand are the main attractions of the area. In 2012 the long sandy beach of Agios Georgios Corfu Greece was again awarded the coveted European Blue Flag - one of nearly twenty awarded on the island.
Agios Georgios South Corfu has grown rapidly over the last few years, although it is still relatively small. The northern end is where you can find the main sandy beach (IssosBeach) as well as bars, restaurants and shops sitting side by side. Moving south some 400-600 metres, there are more areas of open land between shops and restaurants - it is this area that contains the second beach (GoldenBeach).
There is little to nothing in terms of nightlife, as entertainment in the area consists mainly of water sports including snorkelling, jet-skiing and paragliding, or even windsurfing. Nevertheless, Agios Georgios Corfu Greece is an ideal base for those who enjoy walks and nature. You can walk through the olive groves and visit the quaint 10th century village of Argirades or head to Lake Korission, a large salt water lagoon which great for bird watching.
