Ano Korakiana Corfu, a historic settlement located 19km north of Corfu Town, was the birthplace of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first president of Greece. The village was first inhabited during the medieval times and it still maintains a lot of traditional aspects of that time.
Today, approximately 1000 people live permanently in Ano Korakiana village, most of them working at the local shops.
